A woman allegedly shot a man in the shoulder area after he tried to reenter her home through a garage entrance Saturday, according to a Denton Police Department report.
At about 10:55 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 2200 block of Westwood Drive. A caller said she had shot a man at her house.
The woman said she had allowed the man to stay in her garage, but after she saw him using drugs, they began arguing and throwing objects at each other.
The report says the man attempted to stab her with a needle used for drugs. The report does not specify what type of drugs he allegedly had.
The woman then got a gun and was able to close the garage door. The man was outside on the driveway and tried reentering through the garage entrance.
The woman said the man started breaking glass on the garage door, and she pulled the trigger of the gun, striking him.
The man was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The woman was not arrested, and the incident is under investigation.

1700 block of South Loop 288 — A 38-year-old man allegedly threw a stolen beer bottle at an employee, which led to his arrest after officers found the man nearby, according to a police report.
At about 4:32 a.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to a store where a caller said a man had stolen an 18-pack of beer.
The store employee said he recognized the man since he was issued a criminal trespass at the location. The employee had told the man not to enter the store, but he still went inside.
The man then took a case of beer and walked out, according to the report. The employee followed the man to the back of the store, and the man allegedly threw a beer bottle at him. The bottle did not hit the employee, but beer was on his clothes.
Officers then searched the block and found the suspect with the stolen case of beer.
The man told officers the store was overcharging him for the beer and claimed he had paid for it.
He gave a false name and date of birth to officers. Police confirmed he had a previous trespassing incident at the location. The man was asked again to provide his information but he refused, giving false information, according to the report.
The man was arrested and charged with criminal trespass, failure to identify/giving false or fictitious information, and theft with two or more previous convections.
100 block of Avenue A — Officers found a gun in a 27-year-old man’s waistband and loaded magazines during a search while he was under suspicion for driving while intoxicated, according to a police report.
At about 2 a.m. Saturday, officers were patrolling the Fry Street area when they saw a vehicle driving with no headlights.
They flashed a flashlight at the driver, who continued to drive, and they were able to knock on the driver’s side window a few times.
The driver did not stop until officers initiated a traffic stop. Officers say they could immediately smell the odor of alcohol emitting from the driver as he stepped out of his vehicle.
Police asked why he didn’t stop when they knocked on his window, and he said he was scared. The man later denied that police had knocked on his vehicle’s window.
The man said he was coming from a friend’s house, but then said he was at a nearby bar. He also said he didn’t know how much he had to drink.
The report says officers saw a case of beer in the vehicle’s back seat. The man said he had purchased the case earlier in the day.
Police reported that the man’s eyes were red, watery and bloodshot, and he refused to answer more questions.
The man refused to perform a standardized field sobriety test and was detained.
The report says officers found a gun at his waistline and a couple of loaded magazines. The man refused a blood draw until a warrant was granted and approved.
The man was charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
